Breda Murphy Restaurant

Modern British Irish cuisine in Whalley, at the heart of Lancashire’s Ribble Valley

In 2006 Breda’s dream became a reality with the opening of her own restaurant, formed from a lifetime of experience and a highly successful catering business. Nestled in the historic village of Whalley, Lancashire, the restaurant has been an opportunity for Breda to present her own signature cuisine and make her mark.
From the very start the restaurant featured in the Michelin Food Guide, The Good Food Guide and Hardens. A string of articles were written in the press: The Times, The Sunday Telegraph, Sainsbury’s and Olive Magazines. Breda Murphy Restaurant has also achieved a No 1 rating on Trip Advisor.
Fast forward to 2020 and LUXLife magazine voted Breda Murphy, ‘The best contemporary British Restaurant in the UK’, and also winner of the EVAs female entrepreneur Hospitality award in 2021. Breda has also won the Northern Enterprise Awards 2021 for excellence for her online frozen food box delivery service. The legacy continues.
