Restaurant Dining

I am very pleased to say that from Friday 21st May, we will be open for dining in the restaurant, alongside the alfresco marquee every Friday, Saturday and selected Sundays (note Sundays are lunch time only). Pre-booking is essential for tables between 12 noon and 2.15pm & 5.30pm and 8pm and we are accepting reservations online now. We can welcome those in a group of up to 6 from any number of households or any size group from two households. Please select which area of the restaurant you would like to dine in when making your booking; if the area you would like is not shown, this means it is already fully booked. As always, we will ensure that your visit is safe and comfortable and in keeping with the government’s Covid guidelines and this means adherence to social distancing measures. If you select to dine alfresco, whilst we are hoping for some lovely sunshine we are dependant on the great British weather, so please feel free to bring a blanket, wear suitable warm clothing and even bring an umbrella. Please note that if the weather is bad we may not be able to transfer your table from the marquee to inside, if we are already at full occupancy.
We look forward to seeing you all soon.

Breda Murphy Restaurant

Modern British Irish cuisine in Whalley, at the heart of Lancashire’s Ribble Valley

In 2006 Breda’s dream became a reality with the opening of her own restaurant, formed from a lifetime of experience and a highly successful catering business.
Nestled in the historic village of Whalley, Lancashire, the restaurant has been an opportunity for Breda to present her own signature cuisine and make her mark.
From the very start the restaurant featured in the Michelin Food Guide, The Good Food Guide and Hardens. A string of articles were written in the press: The Times, The Sunday Telegraph, Sainsbury’s and Olive Magazines. Breda Murphy Restaurant has also achieved a No 1 rating on Trip Advisor.
Fast forward to 2020 and LUXLife magazine voted Breda Murphy, ‘The best contemporary British Restaurant in the UK’.
Of course the Coronavirus pandemic has brought spells of closure this past year, but the story will continue shortly, and in the meantime the restaurant can now come to your home instead, with our ready meals delivery. Feel free to stop by Breda Murphy Pantry too: take away and click & collect services are available.
The legacy continues.
